This Week: Heavens Highway

Based in North Mississippi, Heavens Highway Ministers to literally thousands each year in churches and benefits.heavens highway Their primary goal is to see lost souls saved and the lonely, hungry misguided people of this world find peace in the Lord Jesus Christ. Their recent release, "Longing to Go" was written by Gerald Crabb. The single made a huge splash on Southern Gospel Radio. Heavens Highway membes are: Sharon Brown, Marty Rock, David Timms, Becky Justice and Jerry Taylor on rhythm guitar. According to the group, they are truly servants of the Lord and stand ready to Minister wherever called.

1. What is the history of your ministry? Where did you begin? Why did you choose this path of ministry?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: All of us have been singing most of our lives. After coming to know Christ, we've spent the last 15 years spreading the gospel in song and word.

2. Who are some of your major musical influences? Why do they affect you the way they do?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: We all have been inspired by different ministries. It woul be impossible to narrow it down to just 1 or 2. Some that come to mind are The Hinsons, Crabb Family.. The list could go on and on.

3. Who has been your biggest spiritual influence?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: For me, personally, my Mother and Gradmother have been a great inspiration to me. As long as I can remember, they have been trusting Jesus and setting an example for me. We all come from a long family history of musicians and singers who taught us to love Jesus, music and song.

4. How many dates to you do per year? What kind of venues do you sing at?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: It's hard to say, exactly. Approximately 150 - 200 maybe. We do all venues. Concerts, Churches, Prison, Homeless Shelters, etc.

5. Are you involved in other areas of ministry besides music?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: Yes, David Timms and I preach the word. God allows us to minister in alot of the places we go. We all attend the same church and are responsible for the music in midweek service and any other time that we aren't on the road.

6. Where do you see your ministry in the next 10 years?
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: Prayerfully, going strong with an unimagineable list of souls won to the kingdom of God.

7. Talk a little bit about your current project and/or single.
Sharon Brown, Heavens Highway: This poject has really been a blessng to us. There are so many songs that minister to the heart. Longing To Go will be charted at # 39 in the February issue of the Singing News magazine. This song has done really well for us and God has blessed in so many ways.
