Busy Summer For Ed O’Neal & Dixie Melody Boys
Kinston, NC - The Dixie Melody Boys are in the midst of a busy summer schedule, which will take them throughout 13 states, including Delaware, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. The Quartet’s travels are in celebration of their 50th Anniversary and the release of their historic, “The Call Is Still The Same” recording, which has already produced the group’s latest hit, “Jesus In My Boat.”
Recently, Dixie Melody Boys’ veteran manager and Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame member, Ed O’Neal (pictured in attached jpg) announced the departure of lead singer Donald Morris, and throughout the summer O’Neal will be searching for a replacement for Morris. Regardless of the personnel change, O’Neal is excited about the group’s future. “It is an exciting time for our group. God is blessing in so many ways. We know God will send us the perfect fit for our group.” According to O’Neal, he is now accepting demos from vocalists and is pleased with the early entries. "We will narrow down the auditions to a few men who will then travel with the group, and our plan is to announce the new member on the main stage at this year’s National Quartet Convention." The Dixie Melody Boys will be featured in Louisville, KY, during NQC week on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 11th & 12th. The Dixie Melody Boys are enjoying a resurgence in popularity, recently being named Favorite Male Quartet at the SGM Fan Awards in May. O’Neal and the group also host their own weekly television show, Great American Gospel, which is seen in over 200 countries.
The Dixie Melody Boys were featured earlier this week on TBN’s Praise The Lord program with host, Jason Crabb. The program will air Friday, June 29 worldwide. Check local listings for availability.
