Welcome back……an interview with Phil Cross

Southern gospel music has been blessed with many great singers and song writers over the decades, one of which is certainly Mr. Phil Cross. He, along with his
group Poet Voices, truly made their mark with their harmonies and with his song writing. We were all saddened as fans when we heard that they were leaving the
road. For the last 15 years, Phil has been taking on loads of other projects and working in different avenues of gospel music. But to the great pleasure of fans
everywhere, in December of 2017 Phil felt the Lord calling him back to the road and the stage in a quartet.
In an interview with Phil, he said that for about 6 months prior he felt he was missing life on the road and singing with a quartet. Phil says that once he decided
to put the group back together, he contacted a couple former group members, Donnie Henderson and Nic Holand, and they were in. He then contacted his longtime friend Brandon Barry and he agreed to sing bass for the group. It just
seemed as though the timing was right and things fell into place for them. He was then contacted by the Becky Simmons Agency and they will be representing Poet
Voices. God has already begun to open doors for them and the dates are coming in.
They have already recorded 2 new projects that are currently available through their website www.poetvoices.net. Their debut recording is called “Extraordinary”, which is also the title of their first radio single. Their second recording is a collection of former hits for Poet Voices and it is titled “The
Essentials: I Am Redeemed”.
Phil says he is excited and looks forward to singing a lot of their old hits from his 35 years of song writing as well as new songs. They look forward to renewing old friendships and making new ones.
Pauline Patterson of Patterson Promotions added, "We’re proud to welcome Phil Cross and Poet Voices to our roster of artists. I believe our radio friends will agree it’s a pleasure to hear this great authentic Poet Voices sound again across the air waves. Welcome!"
If you are interested in booking the new “Poet Voices” you can contact the Becky Simmons Agency. Their first concerts will be on January 28 th in Dalton and Gainesville, GA. Also, check out the new projects and their tour dates on their website www.poetvoices.net.
